Glorifying God In Dating Relationships Gods Word has a lot to say about our relationships.. Godly communication has two primary goals to glorify God and to edify others. BGR, dating, courtship, going steady, etc.

Question: “What does it mean to glorify God?” Answer: To “glorify” God means to give glory to Him. The word glory as related to God in the Old Testament bears with it the idea of greatness of splendor. In the New Testament, the word translated “glory” means “dignity, honor, praise and worship.”.

Should the thought or notion even occur? I believe so…if Paul instructed in Colossians: Every nook and cranny. In studying, in friendships, with family, with standing in line at a coffee shop, with work…and even in a dating relationship. The thought has crossed my mind as I read Christian blog posts and talk with friends about what involving God in dating should look like. There is truth to that, no doubt about it.

Involving God in your relationship is risky and dangerous, and must have careful boundaries and limits within the context of dating. But I believe that the absence of it all-together is more dangerous than the actual involvement of it. If you are dating with marriage as the end goal in mind, the dating relationship is essentially a building block to marriage.

Marriage has the potential to bring God more glory than any other relationship or avenue in life… With that said, if marriage is such a glorifier to God, it is essential to think of the flip-side. If marriage brings God glory, Satan will do everything in his power to tear it down.
